Science blog

What new ideas did i learn this week? This week I did many ideas. I learned that if there is more mass on the object it will still speed up but it will speed up less quickly. We also learned that if you are on an elevator and are measuring how much you would weigh if you were traveling upwards and if you were traveling downwards. If you were traveling upwards you would weigh more that you usually weigh because the earths force is pushing you down while you are going up. If you were going down you would be less than you weighed before because the elevator is pushing down and the force of the weighing machine is pushing up so you will almost be weight less. We also did more things with force diagrams and did many examples for the quiz that we had on Thursday.

How did we learn these ideas? We learned these ideas by doing many experiments and tests. For the Elevator example we saw a video and saw that if you went up you would weigh more than you usually did and if you were going down you would weigh less than you did before. we also saw on the video that if you jump up while you are going up on an elevator you would weigh even more that you would if you were just starting there. If you were going down and you jumped you would then weigh even less than you would if you were just standing. We did an experiment that showed that if there is more mass put on an object it will go slower but will still slowly speed up. We did this by getting a cart and then kept adding more people until we got to three people. Then we saw each time it sped up slower and slower.

Why do we need to know these ideas for the future? We need to know these ideas in the future because it will help us if we are dealing with physics and we could use it for the test that we have to take in the future sometime. It will also teach you more about physics that you did not know about before.
